Ötük (Boots) — one of the oldest preserved types of footwear. Mentioned in the Manas epic, with many varieties described (embroidered, with colored tops, leather boots, sharp-pointed soles).
Ötük were elegant boots made from processed cattlehide leather, fully sewn onto leather soles. Designed with slightly elongated, upward-curved toes to make mounting and dismounting horses easier.
