Köökör — a special vessel used for pouring kumis.
It was made from camel or cowhide, which was dried, cut, sewn, and smoked. The köökör has a long neck, a narrow opening, a wide bottom, and a stable base; small shoulder-like protrusions were made on the sides.
The surface of the vessel was decorated with embossing and ornaments, and for durability, bird feathers were placed inside. A wooden stopper, which was also decorated, was inserted into the neck. Wealthy people additionally adorned the köökör with silver.
